I recommend Subway to my patients, whether they’re trying to lose weight, lower their cholesterol levels, manage their diabetes, or just increase their consumption of fresh vegetables. When it’s my turn to buy lunch for the office staff, I always order from Subway. As a physician and a mother, I feel good about recommending nutritious, wholesome sub sandwiches from Subway.

Whenever my family and I eat out or when I need to bring home a quick, nutritious meal, I always head for Subway. It’s one of the most successful strategies I used to teach my three sons to love eating fresh, nutritious veggies, lean meats, and whole-grain breads when they were young. Now that they’re older, eating a healthy diet is second nature, and Subway is still their favorite place to eat when they’re away from home.

Product SubwayLike most families, my family is very busy. Although it’s tempting to eat fast food, we don’t do it a lot. We do occasionally go to Subway; their veggie subs are low in calories and fat.

In addition to Subway’s veggie subs, other healthy choices include turkey breast and black forest ham subs and chopped salads.
