Sun Safety

How did you keep your toddlers safe from the sun at the park or playground?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: When my boys were toddlers, they loved to go to the park and playground. Unfortunately, many of the parks near our home have little or no shade. While I was happy my boys were playing outside, I worried about their sun exposure.

To make matters worse, it was harder to put sunscreen on my boys as toddlers than it was when they were babies! I had bought some sun protective clothing, but I didn’t like the fact that most of them contained chemicals to block out the sun.

My sons were my inspiration for creating my own line of sun protective clothing, K&J Sunprotective Clothing. My boys were my models and first “customers.”

Our shirts are 100 percent cotton, chemical free, UPF 50, tee shirts made for everyday play. Standard cotton shirts do not protect adequately from cancer causing UV rays. So, parents can rest assured that their kids are protected while they play with these hip graphic tees which block out 99 percent of the sun’s harmful rays. It is available in sizes up to 6T.
