I’ve really been struggling lately with constipation. Is there anything you can suggest to help?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: Try Metamucil Wafers. These apple-and-cinnamon flavored cookies taste good, and two of them offer 6 grams of fiber, which is key to warding off constipation. A box of 24 costs around $5 at grocery stores and drug stores.

When to Call Your Doctor or Midwife: Constipation isn’t usually serious. However, occasionally it can be a symptom of another problem. If you have severe constipation, or if it’s accompanied by abdominal pain, alternates with diarrhea, or you pass mucus or blood, call your doctor or midwife immediately.
