I just found out I’m pregnant, and I’m concerned how this will affect my sex life. What did you find?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply:  Sex during pregnancy was fabulous. It’s “‘perma”’ lube! I felt incredibly sexy when I was pregnant—the sexiest I ever felt. Of course post-partum, the Dolly Parton look wasn’t harmful either. My husband and I have the best sex in the universe. This continues to strengthen the relationship throughout the marriage, despite the sleepless nights, the terrible twos, and the teen years. Your relationship with your partner will get you through all the difficult times—and we all  have them!

I think some women turn in on themselves during pregnancy, and they don’t share with their partners. My husband and I worked through whatever issues we had to maintain our relationship.

I believe that if you don’t continue to explore your sexuality with your partner, the relationship will end. Sex is necessary to make a relationship lifelong. You have to have that rebonding on a fairly frequent basis.
