My baby is five months old, and I’m back to work. A babysitter comes to our home to watch my daughter, and I know she’s doing a good job, but I don’t get much information about their day. What did you do?

Our Mommy MD Guide’s reply: We had a nanny who came to our house. When my older daughter was a baby, I couldn’t get her to go to bed at night. I asked our nanny what their day was like, and I found out the baby was napping five hours each day! No wonder she wasn’t tired at night.

After that, I asked our nanny to keep a daily log for me of my daughter’s activities during the day, when she ate, napped, and even when she went to the bathroom. Having that information was so helpful, and things went much better after that.
