An Interview with Dr. Kruger
What’s your favorite parenting tip? Infants have no hobbies. They eat, and they sleep, and they might have a few quiet moments, but otherwise they fuss for no good reason. Try not to take it personally. You always love your children, but you might not always like them. And that’s ok.
What has surprised you most about parenting? I’ve enjoyed my kids more and more as they’ve gotten older. I’m proud to say that they are people I’m happy to be friends with.
How do you get your kids to eat healthy food? My son was a picky eater, and he didn’t eat well. You can’t control that. Once he got older and saw his friends eating different foods, his own eating choices started expanding.
How do you work exercise into your family’s life? My husband and I have always exercised, and by example our children have chosen to also. They’ve played team sports, and we’ve also gone to many sporting events.
How do you recharge your batteries? I sneak in the time when I can. I wake up early and go running. I also always keep at least one hobby going.
