An Interview with Dr. Bowling
What’s your favorite parenting tip? Trust your instincts, and don’t read too much.
What has surprised you most about parenting? Being a parent you have the most unconditional love, and it’s instantaneous the second they’re born. I tell my sons that their mother is the only human on earth who has their interest 100 percent in mind.
How do you get your kids to eat healthy food? My sons are all vegetarians, but I’m not! When they were growing up, we stressed eating things in moderation. For example a few chips might be ok, but a whole bag’s not a good idea.
How do you work exercise into your family’s life? We all ski, and every weekend we went to a place in New Hampshire to ski. That forced us to enjoy family time, and also exercise. It was the antidote to our busy lives.
How do you recharge your batteries? I get a pedicure!
