How many children do you have?

Two daughters, ages 14 and 4, and a 15-year-old son

How did you come up with the idea for your company and books?

Having suffered through years of abuse, homelessness, and multiple teen pregnancies, Jennifer Maggio could have resigned to simply be another statistic. But through determination, she eventually climbed to the top of the corporate ladder, becoming an 11-time Circle of Excellence Winner for a Fortune 500 Company. Her personal journey has fueled her God-given passion to see single mothers across the globe find freedom and peace in their own lives, so she left her corporate successes behind to launch The Life of a Single Mom Ministries.

Her books, ministry, and speaking career have been a direct result of that passion. The Life of a Single Mom Ministries was birthed through the simple truth that every single mom needs a place to genuinely connect with other single moms. TLSM Ministries is dedicated to launching single parent support groups in churches and non-profits around the world.

What’s your favorite parenting tip?

Take time for yourself. You cannot effectively parent when you are exhausted.

How do you get your family to eat healthy food and/or exercise?

From the time her teens were old enough, Jennifer began enlisting them on various sports teams. The trend has stuck, and they have been competing in multiple sports for many years. With her youngest child, she began training for a marathon only a few months after her birth. Jennifer pushed her in a stroller while jogging. Now, Jennifer’s four-year-old bikes while Jennifer runs. She is part of an active family who makes conscious decisions to each healthy 90 percent of the time.

How do you recharge your batteries?

Having sufficient prayer time rejuvenates and refreshes her so that she can push through her busy schedule.
