How many children do you have and what age groups? I have two boys. Kaden is four years old, and Ty is seven years old.

What’s your favorite parenting tip? Make everything a game…especially if you’re in a hurry. Whenever I say, “I’ll race you to the car” they have their shoes on and are out the door in a hurry!

What has surprised you most about parenting? It surprised me how stressful it could be to have young children who were naturally dependent on me to get their needs met. I instantly felt a connection with other moms who shared similar trails and tribulations.

How do you get your kids to eat healthy food? We talk about what foods will give them the most energy, and they watch my husband and I who eat healthy most of the time.

How do you work exercise into your family’s life? We are a very active family so most of our weekends are spent doing something outdoors. My boys also like to “help” me walk our huge dog.

How do you recharge your batteries? By meeting with girlfriends for lunch, taking a warm bubble bath with lavendar essential oil and bath salts, cat napping with my cat, and/or enjoying a good book while sipping on hot cocoa with whip cream.
