Cindy Sawyer

Cindy is a mom of two, entrepreneur, and the creator of ToweLocs—the creative way to keep towels in place with style.

How did you come up with ToweLocs?  I couldn’t find anything out on the market that would solve my problem of constantly picking up and rearranging my hand towels. I do a lot of cooking and baking and every time I opened my oven door, my towel would fall on the floor. I also noticed this happened every time my kids would dry their hands. They would just pull the towel down and leave in on the counter or the floor. I thought to myself “If the towel was longer, they could reach it and they wouldn’t pull it off!” But how would I keep the towel on the towel bar if I off-set the towel to make it longer on one side? So I started to think of ways to keep the towel on without attaching it to the wall! I wanted something fun, decorative and easy to use. That was how ToweLocs was created.

How many children do you have?  I have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. My boy’s name is Keelan, and he is 9 years old. My girl’s name is Skylar and she is 6 years old.

What’s your favorite parenting tip?  Always start your day and end your day by telling your kids how much you love them and showing them constant affection.

What has surprised you most about parenting?  How much patience you have to have. And knowing what unconditional love is.

How do you get your kids to eat healthy foods?  I try to introduce all types of foods to my kids. Even if they say they don’t like it I keep making it and having them try it. One rule we have about food is that “don’t knock it until you try it.” I first introduced kale to them by chopping raw kale and putting it in their smoothie. They couldn’t taste it and loved it. So they got used to seeing green vegetables. I also have them help me in the kitchen so they are a part of making their meal.

How do you work exercise into your family’s life?  Both of my kids are involved in sports throughout the year. We also have a motto: “When the sun is out, we all are out.” Both my husband and I work out at home so the kids see us work out. They know it’s a lifestyle, and it’s a healthy choice we make as part of our lives

How do you recharge your batteries? I love to read, make an appointment at my favorite spa, go out on date nights with my husband, cook, exercise, hang out with my friends and take family vacations.
